Designed By DaVista Architecture this 460m2 four level home was completed over a fourteen month build. The construction features a concrete block ground floor with concrete precast uni span mid floors. The Rockcote plastered exterior is contrasted with louvre eyebrows and floating tiled decks on all levels. While the home is technically three storeys the ground level is split creating a fourth level.

 

The home was designed for a family that has lived all over the globe. Returning to New Zealand to settle for the future, the clients wanted areas for entertaining and family fun and this begins from the ground floor up. The home features multiple entertainment zones.

 

The ground floor features a large entertainment space with salt and pepper concrete floors and a cedar fin feature wall. This fun zone opens to a fully tiled outdoor area equipped with heaters and a heated lap pool. 

 

Black stained American oak floors are a feature flooring throughout the home especially on the treads of the staircase which is a design feature throughout the three levels. Sculptured handrails include recessed LED lighting. Individually fabricated rods are cut to precision to align with the thick timber stair treads (also underlit) and create a stunning partition from the living space.

The interior features Stria panel feature ceilings and soffits with negative detailed skirtings throughout. Extensive custom lighting defines zones and creates ambience while recessed motorised blinds keep the finish clean and seamless.

Technology is at the forefront in this home with an intercom, lift, ducted air conditioning servicing all levels and a full Bose audio system throughout the interior and exterior spaces.

The second level is the main living level with a state of the art kitchen and butler’s pantry. Open plan, the zoned lighting defines the kitchen space. With granite stone bench tops and fully lacquered kitchen cabinetry, the kitchen is a central hub connecting the lounge and outdoor living.

The second level also features a powder room and the bedrooms. In the master suite the luxury feel continues. The bathroom is sleek with marble tiled walls and features matt black tap ware and twin basins.

On the top level of the home another entertainment zone comes to life with a fully equipped bar and seating to take in the unlimited views out over the Pacific Ocean and up to the Mount summit. It opens onto a private decking space which features an outdoor fireplace.

To the rear of the entertainment zone on the top floor is a secret door which accesses a full home theatre fully decked out with the comforts of a luxury cinema. A great place to take in the rugby with friends or a movie with the family.
