THE MINDEN, TAURANGA

OVER THE MINDEN.

Positioned to make the most of its setting, this home is shaped by both landscape and lifestyle — balancing openness with shelter, and present-day living with future adaptability. Thoughtfully composed in form and material, it delivers a refined, light-filled environment designed to evolve over time.

Key project DETAILS.

Designed to capture expansive views while providing shelter from prevailing winds, this single-level home has been carefully planned with future adaptability in mind — allowing for the addition of a second level over time.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom layout combines a layered exterior palette of cedar and painted brick, used in a staggered composition to define and articulate different areas of the home.

Custom-designed steel and cedar sun-filter screens wrap the home, offering protection during the height of summer while maintaining connection to the surrounding outlook.

Inside, elevated ceiling heights and extensive glazing create a light-filled interior, enhancing the sense of space throughout. The open-plan kitchen and dining area is anchored by a central fireplace, while a separate living room with bar provides a more relaxed retreat.

Sustainability has been thoughtfully integrated, with solar power and hydronic underfloor heating supporting efficient, comfortable living.

Completing the home is a well-considered service zone to the rear, including a separate laundry and utility space, double garage, and dedicated shed for farm bikes and equipment — balancing everyday functionality with architectural intent.
