Nestled in Tauranga’s Avenues, this compact award-winning family home’s design makes the most of its snug 450m2 site.

With timber weatherboard cladding, the Tauranga builders made sure that the traditional exterior sits naturally amongst the other established homes.

Built over two storeys, the family home consists of four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen-living area perfect for entertaining and a scullery.

Extensive timber decking extends the living space of the home and allows for an indoor-outdoor flow. From the dining area, sliding doors giveaway to a covered deck designed for alfresco dining and outdoor entertaining come rain or shine, whilst at the back of the home the timber decking wraps around the swimming pool and is divided from the lawn by frameless glass pool fencing.

The galley-esque kitchen features oak timber flooring and is separated from the dining area by a stone-topped breakfast bar. Double doors lead through to a more formal sitting room with dark carpeting, white trim, recessed shelving and a black tiled fireplace framed by a white mantel shelf.

The relaxing family bathroom features white wainscoting, navy tiles in a herringbone pattern, a large unframed mirror, floating vanity and a free-standing deep bath tub.

Throughout the home neutral and earthy colours are used: whites, stoney browns and sky blues, but in the master bedroom the walls provide a vibrant splash of colour with multi-coloured vertical stripes.

For this Tauranga property, Calley Homes worked with local suppliers and designers including HK Kitchens and Mainframe flooring.

In 2016 Tauranga built property won the Gold Award at the Registered Master Builders House of the Year for Bay of Plenty/Central Plateau. In the same year it received the Gold Reserve Award in 2016 at the Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards.
